The Definition
Innovative Systems Architecture™ encompasses the core components of an intelligent building’s value. Our methodology integrates Information Technology and Direct Digital Control networks over an interoperable communications infrastructure.

Our Innovative Systems Architecture design allows our clients to run multiple building systems over an interoperable communications infrastructure. This eliminates the need for multiple proprietary networks each operating on their own independent infrastructure.
Innovative Systems Architecture™ consolidates design efforts resulting in multiple benefits to our clients, including a reduction in the total design, material and labor cost, while improving time to market, and providing an enhanced documented understanding of our client’s requirements on a project or portfolio basis.
What is an intelligent building?
The term “intelligent building” can be defined in many ways. The most common of which are “multiple automation systems connected via gateways” or “open protocol systems”. Just because a building has an open protocol automation system or multiple systems have been connected via gateways, this does not mean your building is intelligent. Veracity firmly believes true intelligence is achieved with the integration of Building Automation Systems over the Information Technology physical layer, when these two disciplines are combined and converged with complete interoperability, true building intelligence has been achieved.
Cost considerations
For optimal Return on Investment (ROI), it is important to evaluate the financial benefits of building intelligence prior to the design phase of a project. Systems deployed during the construction phase have long-term financial and operational benefits.
- 25% of a buildings total expense occurs during the strategy, design & construction phase
- The remaining 75% of a buildings total expense occurs during the operating and maintenance lifecycle.
Innovative Systems Architecture™ provides the ability to improve the functional capabilities of a facility more often and more economically.
In conclusion
Innovative Systems Architecture™ requires the cooperation of the entire design team including the owner, developer, architect and engineers. The design team’s commitment to an interoperable communication infrastructure is the essential foundation to successfully implement true building intelligence. |
