Building Automation is accomplished through Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems that are microprocessor-based controllers with the control logic performed by software. Analog to Digital converters transform analog values into digital signals. The microprocessor assesses this information and makes decisions based on programmed algorithms.
What can be controlled by Direct Digital Control systems
All building systems can be controlled and monitored by Direct Digital Control systems. HVAC, lighting, card access, digital video surveillance, fire life safety, back-up power generating equipment, water features, and a whole host of subsystem monitoring can be integrated into the Direct Digital Control system.
Innovative Systems Architecture™
Over the past decade advancements in the Direct Digital Control industry have included integration into Internet Protocol (IP) based system architecture. These networks are either constructed as standalone IP systems or they have been integrated into the client’s existing infrastructure. Innovative Systems Architecture™ advances full enterprise IP based building automation systems to the next generation by directly integrating them into the building’s information technology open-standards communication infrastructure.
